For ALL Students:
Students with a documented disability may request reasonable accommodations for placement testing (e.g., extended time, use of calculator, use of computer to write essay, etc.). In order to do this, a student must register with Student Disability Services and submit appropriate documentation. Students are encouraged to complete the registration process as soon as possible.
For NEW INCOMING Students:
Placement testing is mandatory for ALL incoming students, unless they have any of the exemptions listed on the Placement Testing Exemptions page. All new students should complete their testing at least one week before their Course Selection Orientation date. If Placement Testing or any exempting credits are not on file by your Orientation date, you will not be able to register for English Composition, Math, or Science courses.
New Incoming students must sign up for both Placement Testing and Orientation through the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and Orientation.
For CURRENT Students:
Current students who have never taken the Placement Tests should fill out this testing request form.
If you have taken the Placement Test before but you have a question about your results, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. Your email should include your full name and your UMBC Campus ID.
